I am beyond thrilled with the results I’ve achieved over the past 90 days of doing Bar Method.
Prior to the fitness challenge, it had been a few years since I had worked out regularly. This year I turned 50 and I was not happy with the way I looked and felt. I was carrying extra weight (especially around my middle section) and my self-confidence had been seriously lacking. More recently, I found myself hiding from the camera. This was NOT the way I wanted to live out the second half of my life. I desperately wanted to turn things around and get a solid grasp on my health and fitness. I was so ready for a change, but wasn’t sure where to start. My sister had been doing Bar Method for a couple months and urged me to give it a try. When I saw the results that she had been getting after two short months, I was convinced that I needed to check it out for myself.
I’ve got to say that I became hooked after the very first class. I remember noticing changes in my posture within the first week. I love the workout. It’s habit forming. It’s a full body workout that’s challenging, fun, and relaxing all at the same time. There’s nothing like the peaceful and accomplished feeling I have after completing a Bar Method class. It’s great to have finally found a workout that I actually look forward to. I intend for it to be part of my health and fitness plan for years to come.
Over the course of the 90 Day Fitness Challenge, I’ve shed 20 pounds and added gorgeous muscle tone. My goal at the onset of the challenge was to get down to a size 6 and be “bikini ready”. I am happy to report that I have met those goals. I am down from size 12 to size 6 and have pranced in front of the mirror in my bikini with glee. I’m now ready for that sunny beach vacation. Not bad for a 50 year old! Doing Bar Method has transformed my entire physique. Everywhere I look I see beautiful lean muscle – legs, thighs, arms, shoulders, back, and abdominals. I’m particularly happy to have my flat tummy and small waist back.
My friends and family have all been noticing my transformation which has been fun and rewarding. My proudest moment came a few weeks ago when I tried on my 18 year old daughter’s size 6 skinny jeans and they fit! It’s been almost 10 years since I’ve worn a size 6. I am so happy with the way I look and feel.
I’m also very pleased with what it has done for my back health. I have had years of lower back pain off and on. The Bar Method has been perfect for strengthening my back and core and improving my posture. I think it will be the perfect way for me to keep my back healthy and strong for years to come. Speaking of posture, a recent trip to my doctor’s office revealed that I now stand three quarters of an inch taller! I was shocked and of course had to have them measure me again just to be sure. I’m certain it is the improvement in my posture. That’s got to be great for my back.
All in all, the 90 Day Fitness Challenge has been just what I needed to jumpstart my new healthy and fit lifestyle. It was a great experience to be able to set my goals, commit, follow-through, and achieve the results I wanted. For me, it reinforced the fact that I am powerful and capable of whatever I set my mind to. My successes in this area of my life have begun to carry over to other aspects of my life. I am grateful for the fitness challenge as it has given me the opportunity to remind myself of what is possible when one decides, commits, and takes action.
